Introduced in 1955, the Ford Thunderbird was a two-seater with a front-mounted V8 engine and a rear-mounted transmission. It was one of the first cars to feature a wraparound windshield. The Thunderbird was a huge success and quickly became one of Ford's most popular models.

The 1957 Ford Thunderbird was a car that was ahead of its time. It featured a sleek design and a powerful engine that made it a favorite among drivers. Some of the changes made for the 1957 model year included a modified front bumper, enlarged grille and tailfins, and larger tail lights. The spare wheel was returned to the trunk, which had been redesigned to allow it to be positioned vertically. The "Thunderbird" script that was previously on the fins was transferred to the front. The 1957 Thunderbird was the last two-seater Ford automobile produced until 1982.
